Cher Norville, Painter
I have been an artist and have enjoyed art throughout my life. I received my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Northern Arizona University and then went on to produce catalogs while art directing photo shoots in New York and Dallas. I continued my career in the graphic design field and then went on to teach art at Saint Mary’s High School in Phoenix, AZ. It was them an artist and my family inspired me to paint. Past trips to Africa and Canada left a life long impression on me. I captured, on film, the beauty of the innocent wildlife that roamed the bush throughout Kenya and Tanzania in Africa and along the tundra in Churchill Manitoba, Canada. These images were so striking that they seemed to ask me to paint them.
Now I explore the possibilities to paint the wildlife and beauty of Northern Arizona as my health has led me to Sedona from Tempe, Arizona. I want to capture the amazing sights of Sedona and Northern Arizona.
Animals are beautiful creatures of this earth with personalities that can be magnified on canvas. With each painting I complete my desire to paint increases. I continue to follow my instinct to paint not knowing the direction it will take me.
