Mary Helsaple, Painter
Artist Mary Helsaple is a Business Owner, retired member of the Board of Directors of several Colorado Non-profit Art Organizations, an Emmy Award winning Nature Filmmaker, Nature Photographer, Speaker, Writer, and Illustrator. Helsaple has been profiled in numerous articles in Southwest Magazine, Art of the West, American Artist and Watercolor Magazine. In 1999, Helsaple’ art was featured in the CRAYOLA – Binney & Smith; Millennium Odyssey Curriculum Guide as a National Artist Educator.
Helsaple is painting a series of ‘sculptural watercolor assemblages’ on the plants, birds, and animals of the Southwest. Mary is also illustrating 12 covers for a National Women’s Fiction-Writers book series, writing an Artist Journal called, “A Hat for the Rainforest”, and preparing photo and illustrated art books. Mary Helsaple Watercolors have recently exhibited at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, “America’s Parks I& II” National Exhibition, and her paintings are included in the National Traveling Exhibition, “Environmental Impact”, curated by Dr. David J. Wagner, and featuring other renowned artist’s such as Robert Batemen, Walter Ferguson, Kent Ullberg, Robert Dawson.
